Neon Genesis Evangelion:
The End of Evangelion is a 1995 Japanese animated television series produced by Gainax and directed by Hideaki Anno. Neon Genesis Evangelion is considered one of the greatest anime films of all time, widely lauded for its brilliant storytelling, unforgettable characters, and jaw-dropping animation. Utilizing a unique blend of philosophy, psychology, science fiction, and spirituality, director Hideaki Anno and the crew behind the anime created an incredibly complex narrative that explored the nature of human identity and the nature of God.
Characters
In this post, we’ll be discussing the main characters in Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion, or Evangelion for short. If you missed the first two seasons of the series, the plot is about humanity and its relationship to the Angels, intelligent manifestations of human souls who seek to destroy humanity.
Shinji Ikari
Shinji Ikari is an ordinary soul living in Tokyo-3. In 2015, he was charged with the task of piloting Nerv’s EVA unit, which was a prototype for the mecha that would become the battle machines that saved the world from the Angel, the machine life form that was bent on its destruction. He was the last to pilot the EVA and the only one to drive it into battle. He was the one who fought the Angel and was the last to make a stand against it. And in the end, he was the one to promote the EVA’s destruction.
Rei Ayanami
Rei Ayanami is the pilot of the S01 Evas. She is the first of the Evangelion pilots to be introduced and called Angel, the Soul of the Sunshine. Rei is an arrogant and demanding person, but she is also a very compassionate and caring person.
To like or not to like Rei Ayanami, that is the question! She is a powerful, enigmatic character who symbolizes hope and despair, a troubled teenaged girl with no memory of her past but with the power to command others by her mere presence. Rei is an essential character in the story of Neon Genesis Evangelion, but she has mainly been under-appreciated in the English-speaking world. She is a favorite character to Japanese fans, but to non-Japanese fans, she remains a mysterious character.
Asuka Langley Soryu
Today, there are movies, manga, and even T.V. shows about the life and times of the original Evangelion pilot, Asuka Langley Soryu, and to little surprise, people are still interested. Over the years, she has been portrayed in a wide array of media, such as her manga and novel, as well as various anime shows her character has appeared in, such as the prequel feature film “Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death and Rebirth” and the television series “Neon Genesis Evangelion“. Evangelion wasn’t just an anime classic; it’s a cultural phenom. With the help of your favorite mecha, Shinji Ikari must pilot giant robots to save the world from a huge mechanical monster. If that wasn’t enough, the Eva pilots must also contend with the shadowy organization SEELE, as well as the angelic Messianic Rei Ayanami. Gendo Ikari
Gendo Ikari is a character from Neon Genesis Evangelion, a 1998 anime based on a manga of the same name. Ritsuko Akagi is one of the more memorable characters from Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion. As the chief assistant of Gendo Ikari and an influential member of his secret organization, NERV, Akagi’s character arc is the closest that the series comes to giving any female character a chance to be its hero. We know from the series that she was deeply in love with Shinji, but she still has her schedule and organization. She is willing to make tough decisions to protect her people and her passion while remaining sympathetic and relatable.
Kozo Fuyutsuki
A few years ago, I discovered a man who had worked on a popular anime called Neon Genesis Evangelion, and unlike most people who work on anime, he doesn’t have a website or a Facebook page.
I thought to myself, “Hey, I know what I’m going to write about. I’ll write about how I find the Kozo Fuyutsuki character in Neon Genesis Evangelion cool, and then I’ll hyperlink to the song of the same name which I’ll find on YouTube so I don’t have to transcribe it here”. That is this intro paragraph. And I didn’t even write it excellently.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is an anime movie released in 1995 that is highly regarded as one of the greatest ever. It’s been mentioned in many lists of the greatest anime movies of all time. The film is a sci-fi, psychological thriller that follows a group of teenagers fighting demons from outer space that have attacked the Earth.
Makoto Hyuga
Makoto Hyuga is a character who first appeared as a significant supporting character in the manga and later had a prominent role in the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion. He is a young Japanese man who is the main protagonist of the original series and is also known as Shinji Ikari’s best friend. As one of the pilots and main protagonists of the mecha battles of the anime, he protects Shinji, his friend, and close associate, from danger.
Soryu Neon Genesis Evangelion is a critically acclaimed animated series created by director Hideaki Anno, with a manga series and a movie based on the show. The story centers around a group of teenagers (one of whom is 14 years old) who form the “Evangelion” “Girl” pilot teams to pilot giant robots against the invading Angels, which are creatures from another dimension that want to take over the Earth. The story is complex and has many categorized characters as “good” and “bad”. There is a post-apocalyptic world in the background, and the Angels themselves are scary; it is a highly dark series and has many themes that aren’t often seen in other anime.
Maya Ibuki
The story of Evangelion is eerily similar to the level of my childhood. Growing up, my mother read this book to me, and I understood what the author was trying to say. It was a story about a world on the brink of destruction, a world with a powerful entity that wanted to destroy it, and a young boy who tried to save it. I say “desperately” because the world the author is talking about is our own. We are the destructive entity; we are the young boy who wants to save the world. I am a huge fan of Neon Genesis Evangelion, and I will talk a bit about how I think she will turn out in the series. I have been reading a lot of fanfictions and fan art of the character, so I am sure I know a lot of things that everybody else doesn’t or doesn’t care about, but since I am in a fanfic and fan art, I know that she will not have a happy ending. I mean, I don’t think she will have a happy ending in the anime or the movie, but I think she will have a happy ending in the manga because not only she won’t die, but she will get a happy ending.
